COMMEMORATION SERVICES 2014

Many alumni, family, and friends filled St. Luke’s Episcopal Church for the Iolani Raiders Boosters Club’s 4th Annual Commemoration Services in celebration of the lives of Father Kenneth A. Bray and Mr. Edward K. Hamada, the foremost proponents of One Team. Father Tom Yoshida ’54, former chaplain at Iolani, once again officiated, Landon Leu ’05 read the scripture, and Ms. Patricia Okimura spoke of One Team from her perspective as both an Iolani and Punahou parent and team mom, as well as being a St. Andrew’s Priory alumna. She is a One Team believer and has been key to several Iolani teams viewing the Boosters Club’s award winning One Team Documentary.

The attendees were so numerous they filled the front of St. Luke’s for a photo and it was necessary to take a second photo of just the Bray Boys with Ms. Okimura. We’re happy that so many continue to attend to pay tribute to One Team icons Fr. Bray and Mr. Hamada.

Of course no gathering is complete without food, so the group moved to the Parish Hall for refreshments after the services. Along with the good food and good fellowship, they were treated to a showing of the One Team Documentary. We hope the newcomers learned about One Team and the rest renewed their belief in One Team. We hope to see everyone, and more, at next year’s services.
